Nagpur: A minor girl preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) went missing from her relative’s house in the Beltarodi area, prompting police to register a case of suspected abduction.Police sources said the girl had reportedly left home on two earlier occasions but returned after a few days.According to the complaint, the 17-year-old girl left the house at around 9pm on Monday without informing anyone. She was staying in Beltarodi for NEET coaching. Before leaving, she allegedly took her belongings, the complainant’s mobile phone, and 3,000 in cash that had been kept in her college bag.The girl’s relatives immediately contacted her parents in Yavatmal and other family members, but no information about her whereabouts could be obtained.Suspecting that an unidentified person may have lured or abducted the minor, the complainant approached Beltarodi police station. “We are searching for the minor through her friends and using technical surveillance,” said senior inspector Ritesh Aher.Police have launched a search operation and are examining CCTV footage, mobile location data, and statements of neighbours and staff at the coaching centre.Investigations are underway to trace the girl and ascertain whether any person was involved in her disappearance. Police have appealed to the public to share any information regarding her whereabouts.
