Gorakhpur: A 35-year-old man died after a Chinese kite string slit nearly half his neck while he was riding his two-wheeler to work in Gorakhpur on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place near the Hawart embankment in the Ilahibagh area under Tiwaripur police station limits around 1 pm.Ramesh Kannaujia, a resident of Suryakund, worked at a cosmetics shop. He was on his way to the shop, where he had been working for a long time, when his neck got entangled in the sharp kite string, leaving him critically injured.Passers-by, with the help of police, rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Ramesh’s wife Punna and other family members reached the hospital after being informed about the incident. Ramesh was married for 10 years and is also survived by a nine-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.CO (Kotwali) Omkar Dutt Tiwari said an investigation into the incident was underway. The body was taken into police custody and sent for post mortem.
