Dimapur: A central post-disaster needs assessment team from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) visited Mon district on Tuesday to assess damage caused by this year’s monsoon in Nagaland.The team held a meeting with district officials and representatives of various line departments at Mon deputy commissioner’s conference hall. Mon DC Wennyei Konyak briefed the team on the extent of the damage reported in the district.Officials from the line departments also presented details of the monsoon-related damage and submitted reports to the central team.The team asked the departments to document and report all actual damage to ensure an accurate assessment of the post-disaster needs.The visit was part of the post-disaster needs assessment being conducted across Nagaland and was aimed at assisting the state’s line departments in compiling and assessing the damage and recovery requirements.
