Patna: The NDA functionaries on Monday launched a sharp attack on the INDIA bloc after the DMK and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) distanced themselves from the opposition bloc’s meeting in Delhi, questioning its unity and relevance.Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan described the alliance as an opportunistic arrangement driven by political compulsions rather than ideology.Senior JD(U) functionary and Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh questioned the alliance’s future. “There is only disappointment and despair. They must be sitting together and sharing each other’s sorrows,” he said.Former state health minister and BJP functionary Mangal Pandey said the alliance lacked both vision and policy. “The netas gathered in Delhi possessed neither a vision nor a policy for the country’s development,” he said.Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) national president and minister Santosh Kumar Suman said the alliance had become “a mere collection of political contradictions”.“This alliance is a political experiment built not upon a shared national vision or a development agenda, but solely on opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.Targeting the Congress, Chirag alleged the party had weakened its ties with long-time allies in pursuit of power. He also questioned the presence of leaders who had previously traded allegations against one another. The LJP (RV) chief further criticised the absence of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav during the legislative council nomination process in Patna.“This signals a lack of seriousness within the party,” Chirag said.
