Prayagraj: Rail passengers travelling to and from Prayagraj will have several new travel options over the coming weeks, even as the railway administration has announced temporary cancellations and rescheduling of trains due to infrastructure work on the Jhansi-Manikpur section.Ongoing doubling and non-interlocking work between Mauranipur and Rora will affect services on the Prayagraj-Gwalior route. Prayagraj-Gwalior Express (11801) will remain cancelled on July 28 and 29, while Gwalior-Prayagraj Express (11802) will be cancelled on July 27 and 28. The Gwalior-Prayagraj Express has also been rescheduled by two hours on Sunday and from July 21 to 26. In addition, Gwalior-Howrah Chambal Express (12176) will be detained for an hour on July 21 and 28, while Agra Cantt-Howrah Chambal Express will face a one-hour en route halt on July 23.In a relief for daily commuters, North Central Railway has introduced a two-minute stoppage for Triveni Express at Manda Road station from July 20-21. Train Nos 15073, 15074, 15075 and 15076 operating between Tanakpur, Shaktinagar and Singrauli will halt at the station in both directions following public demand.The railway administration has also announced two weekly special trains to Kolkata with stoppages at Subedarganj station. The Kanpur Central-Kolkata Special (04157/04158) will operate from July 21 to Sept 30, while the Agra Cantt-Kolkata Special (01911) will run from July 23 to Sept 24.Adding to the festive season connectivity, Railways will introduce a new weekly Prayagraj-Yeshwantpur Special (04149/04150) from Aug 5 to Sept 26 to meet passenger demand. The train will depart from Prayagraj every Wednesday between Aug 5 and Sept 23, with the return service leaving Yeshwantpur every Saturday from Aug 8 to Sept 26. The special train will comprise 23 ICF coaches, including general, sleeper, AC three-tier and AC two-tier coaches, providing enhanced connectivity between Prayagraj and Bengaluru during the travel season.
