Ranchi: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in a joint operation with Ranchi police, seized 97 kg of marijuana and arrested three alleged members of an organised crime group in the Nagri police station area on Friday.Two of the accused were identified as Suraj Kumar and Subham Kumar. The men, aged between 25 and 30, were taken into NCB custody for questioning.SP (rural) Gaurav Goswami said the marijuana was being transported from Odisha to Hazaribag district for sale.A police officer said the NCB, assisted by Nagri police, acted on a tip-off and laid a trap near a railway crossing. The contraband was recovered from a car. Another vehicle carrying peddlers escaped.Investigators said the smugglers used rural roads in Odisha and Jharkhand to evade detection. The movement of marijuana from Odisha to parts of Jharkhand has become a recurring concern in recent years.
