Varanasi: In a crackdown on illegal sale and trafficking of narcotic substances, Obra Police in Sonbhadra arrested one Ritesh Jaiswal (23) and seized heroin, cough syrup and injections worth Rs3.27 lakh.Circle officer Obra Prabhat Rai said that the raid was conducted in Ravidas Nagar, Ward-1, Billi on August 9. The police also seized 27.10 grams of heroin worth Rs2.75 lakh, 207 bottles of codishreen syrup of 100 ml each valued at Rs 38,502, and 650 Avil injections valued at Rs14,397. The total estimated value of the seized narcotics and other materials is Rs3,27,899.Based on the arrest and recovery, a case was registered at Obra police station under section 8/21 of the NDPS Act. Further legal proceedings are underway, said police.
