Noida: A 19-year-old woman employed as a nanny by a family living in an upscale residential society in Sector 150 was found hanging in her room at her employer’s apartment on Monday morning. No suicide note has been recovered so far and investigation is underway, police said.According to police, the woman had been employed with the family for a few years, having been working with them in Lucknow. When they moved to Noida two years ago, she had moved to continue working in the household and lived with them full-time.Preliminary investigation suggests that she retired to her room on Sunday night and is suspected to have died either late during the night or in the early hours of Monday. Around 7.30am on Monday, her employer went to check on her and found her hanging from the ceiling fan with a scarf.They alerted the police through the emergency helpline number 112 and a team reached the spot to conduct a preliminary inspection. The body was sent for an autopsy and results are awaited.Knowledge Park police station SHO Vinod Kumar said that no note was found during a search of her room. “Her family members have been informed. Their statements will be recorded and every possible angle will be examined to ascertain the exact reason behind the extreme step,” the SHO said.Police said the autopsy results will help establish the exact cause and time of death. Investigators are also collecting information about the woman’s recent activities and interactions to determine whether she was facing any personal or professional issues.Legal proceedings are underway and no foul play has been established so far, police added.
