A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a three-year-old girl found dead at a property in Surrey.
Surrey Police said the 31-year-old suspect was treated for a serious injury after being detained at an address on Pyrcroft Road, Chertsey, at about 17:40 BST on Thursday.
A three-year-old girl was found dead inside the property, police said.
The force added it is not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
An investigation, led by Surrey Police’s Major Crime Team, has been launched to establish the circumstances of the girl’s death.
In a statement the force said: “At this stage our enquiries lead us to believe that this took place within a family setting.”
