Times News NetworkKanpur: Municipal commissioner Arpit Upadhyaya on Tuesday pulled up the agencies concerned over the slow pace and alleged negligence in the construction work on the CM Grid road near Green Park Stadium.During an inspection in the afternoon, Upadhyaya took note of the difficulties being faced by pedestrians due to road excavation. He directed the agencies concerned to remove Smart City LED lights and poles obstructing the work and complete the remaining construction within three to four days.A large pit has been dug on the stretch between Green Park Crossing and Parade Crossing. Officials informed the municipal commissioner that installation of Smart City LED lights and poles was hampering the road work. Upadhyaya directed the executing agency, M/s Konark Associates, to complete the work within the stipulated period, including removal of the LED lights and poles.He also instructed the officials to ensure proper barricading, regular cleaning of the site and safe movement of pedestrians. He warned that failure to complete the work within the deadline would lead to the contractor being blacklisted.Later, the municipal commissioner inspected the road stretch between Pratap Petrol Pump and Rajeev Petrol Pump in Macrobertganj and found view cutters damaged at several points and the footpath in poor condition. He also observed inadequate arrangements for drainage of rainwater.He directed the officials to repair the damaged view cutters and raise a drainage channel along the footpath to ensure proper disposal of water.
