Mumbai: Mayor Ritu Tawde on Friday expressed strong displeasure over the delay in the redevelopment of Siddharth Municipal General Hospital in Goregaon (West), stating that such delays in a key public health project are “unacceptable.“During a surprise visit to the project site, the mayor reviewed the progress of the works and directed officials to submit a detailed report on the current status of the project along with a timeline for its completion.At present, construction of two 11-storey hospital buildings has reached up to the 10th floor. Staff quarters and residential medical officer quarters, each planned as 21-storey buildings, have reached the 20th floor. Officials said that once the structural work is completed, interior work may take about two more years.Tawde said delays in such projects directly impact public healthcare services and inconvenience lakhs of citizens who depend on government hospitals.
