Mumbai: A 20-year-old college student was traumatised after a female college friend and her accomplices allegedly cut her hair in Versova, Mumbai, on Wednesday and threatened to post a video of the act on social media, police said.Versova police registered a case against three college students, aged 20 and 21, for allegedly pulling the victim out of her flat and cutting her hair while recording the incident.The incident occurred at 12.30 am when the victim and her domestic maid were in the flat, while her parents had gone out for a family function. “A probe has been initiated against the three girls on victim’s complaint. The trio pulled the victim out of her flat and even threatened her when she screamed for help. The motive behind the act found out was the suspect suspected the victim having an affair with her boyfriend,” said a Versova police officer.In her complaint, the victim said: “I got in touch with the 21-year-old suspect and her boyfriend through a common friend. On March 7, the suspect even visited my home in Andheri (west) and checked my mobile and left when she did not find anything. Then I did not knew the reason behind her checking my mobile. The matter was clear when she along with two others visited my home at night and dragged me out of my flat by holding my hair.“A police officer said the main suspect started cutting the victim’s hair while the two accomplices kept shooting the act on their mobiles. When the victim screamed for help, the main suspect threatened that she can do whatever she want, but they are going to maligned her image on social media by posting the hair cut video.Police sought CCTV grabs to identify the three students who visited the victim’s building and took the route to go to their home before initiating action.
