Nagpur: Sakoli in Bhandara district is set to attract more tourists with the reopening of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) resort, offering a blend of morning trail treks and relaxed evenings by the pool. The facility was virtually inaugurated by MTDC managing director Nilesh Gatne, who described it as a key step in promoting Vidarbha as a major travel destination.Speaking to TOI, MTDC regional manager Dinesh Kamble said the 25-acre resort now features a 70-seater restaurant serving traditional Vidarbha cuisine, replacing its earlier Punjabi-only menu. He added that boating facilities are also being planned to enhance the tourist experience.The resort has returned to MTDC’s control after being operated by a private entity for nearly a decade. MTDC aims to position the resort as an ideal destination for nature lovers. Online bookings for the state-run resort are now live on the MTDC website.
