Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) on Friday said it has decided to set up a 24-hour monsoon control room from June 1 to tackle rain-related emergencies in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).The MSRDC said in its release that the control room will function till September 30, 2026, and MSRDC officers and engineers will be deployed on duty to address the contingencies.The engineering department of the corporation is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various flyovers under its jurisdiction in the MMR.The control room will coordinate with the emergency control rooms of the state government, the municipal corporations of Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, it said.The MSRDC has also issued helpline numbers for assistance during the monsoon season.The toll-free number is 1800228384, while the control room telephone number is 022-26420914 and the mobile number is 8928128406, the corporation said in the release.
