Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta inaugurated the newly constructed Material Recovery Facility (MRF) unit within the Vitla TP limits on Friday. Built with a grant of approximately Rs 60.1 lakh under the central govt’s Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 and other centrally sponsored schemes, this new facility features a 3 TPD (tons per day) capacity MRF unit dedicated to dry waste collection. This introduces a highly scientific dry waste collection and disposal system to the Vitla TP area. Capt Chowta said the scientific disposal of waste can effectively prevent environmental pollution. Following this programme, as part of ‘Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan’ marking the Prime Minister’s 25 years of public service, the MP planted and watered a sapling.
