MP XI will be represented by 16 MPs and former cricketers while in Kanpur XI several district officials and former cricketers. Addressing media persons local MP Ramesh Awasthi the match was being organized to address the key features of famous stadium Green park .“The stadium has a rich history and that should be known by all” he added.Awasthi stated Green park stadium was around 78 year old and had hosted test matches one day and T -20 matches .The renovation of the stadium was due and state government had already allocated a sum of Rs.456.94 crore and a sum of Rs 45 Crore had been released out of Rs 50 crores for stadium.Once the renovation work is over the capacity of Stadium would be 55,000.MP Awasthi stated the Singhania family had given a lot to Kanpur Cricket .Therefore a stand in the name of Singhania.would be raised . Galleries of the stadium would be in the name of Sir Padampat Singhania, former Test cricketer Gopal Sharma, Suresh Raina,Shashikant Khandekar Hall of fame Neetu David, Rita Dey.A proposal to this effect was being prepared.Awasthi informed MP XI will be led by former cricketer and Berhampur ( Bengal) MP Yusuf Pathan while Kanpur XI will be led by former Ranji trophy player Ankit Rajput . The match would be of 15 overs each inning and would commence at 5.30 p.m.Members of the two teams are – MP XI—Yusuf Pathan( Captain),Anand Bhadoria,Vishwajeet Sinha,Danish Ali,Abhijeet Sanga ( MLA),Surendra Maithani, Praveen Khandelwal, Prashant, Ramesh Awasthi,Sadanand MS, Somendra Tomar, Subrat Pathak, Vijay Dubey and Nishikant Dubey.Kanpur XI- Ankit Rajpur ( captain), Anubhav Singh, Akanshu Govil, Balkar Singh, Ankur Ksuhik, Abhinav Jain, Karmveer Singh,Sandeep Kumar,Shubham Patel, Deepankar Malviya, Satish ,Sunil Tripathi,Harjit Singh, Gopal and Amit Pal.
