Motorola is entering the bookstyle foldable market with its own Razr model at the MWC 2026 and we could see it launch soon.
Motorola’s Razr Fold offers a mix of premium and reliable features.
The Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC 2026) in Barcelona has started this week and Motorola has shown off its first bookstyle foldable with all the details. The Razr Fold joins the flip Razr family and gives the brand the chance to compete in the higher table with Samsung and soon Apple to enter the fray. The foldable was first teased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year.
The Razr Fold has flagship traits and hardware with a familiar Motorola style and design which includes the squarish rear camera module. But does the new foldable in the market have enough oomph and substance to battle the main contenders, here are the details.
Motorola Razr Fold: What It Offers
The Razr Fold design has the familiar style with a rugged back panel and its textured finish. The identical camera system is part of the device and the M logo on the centre. It has a sleek 4.6mm frame when unfolded and 9.9mm thin when folded. It also weighs 244 grams which is on the heavier side compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 or even the Vivo X Fold 5 model.
Having said that you get a 6,000mAh battery on the Razr Fold with 80W wired fast and 50W wireless charging support. The brand is only able to give IP48 and IP49 ratings which is not at the flagship level in terms of the durability. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset (not the 8 Elite version) with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
Motorola is offering a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS. Bose is offering the speaker audio support, and the foldable does get Stylus inputs unlike Samsung’s foldable.
The choice of the hardware could be linked to Motorola going aggressive with the Fold’s pricing in the market, but we can’t be sure about that after seeing the trends since the start of the year.
