Ghaziabad: A 40-year-old psychiatrist allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the balcony of the fifth floor of her apartment in Raj Nagar Extension.According to police, the woman, who ran a clinic near the Ghaziabad bus stand, had divorced her husband 18 months ago and had been battling depression ever since, to the point of staying away from work for over a month.Nandgram ACP Ziauddin Ahmad said a Dial 112 call alerted police that a woman had fallen from the fifth floor of the building, and when a team reached the spot, they found her body lying on the road inside the society.“The woman’s father told cops that the woman was living alone in the flat. She has been depressed since her divorce and had been skipping work for more than a month,” he said.Police said the woman had allegedly filed a dowry harassment complaint against her ex-husband, a doctor based in Delhi, at Kavi Nagar police station while he submitted an extortion complaint against her.The ACP said police are examining all aspects of the case. Statements of family members are being recorded, and evidence from the scene is being reviewed. No suicide note has been found yet, they said.
