Mysuru: Alleging large-scale irregularities in development works at the Dasara Exhibition Grounds, BJP MLC R Raghu Thursday sought details of project estimates and threatened to approach the Lokayukta over the expenditure incurred on the ongoing works. Kautilya made a surprise inspection of the exhibition grounds and questioned officials over the reported expenditure of Rs 9.5 crore on a fountain and Rs 9.4 crore on stall renovation.He directed officials to provide complete details of the estimates and said he would raise the issue during the special session of the legislature. The MLC also objected to the removal of a statue of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar from the premises for construction of the fountain. He questioned officials about who authorised its removal and whether govt approval had been obtained.He directed officials to reinstall the statue immediately and sought details about plaques installed in memory of noted poets. He also said the condition of toilets at the exhibition grounds was not good.
