Bokaro: Shwettaa Singh, the Congress MLA from Bokaro, on Friday sought block status for Pindrajora village. Singh raised the demand, being made by locals of Pindrajora for years, during the Zero Hour of Friday’s business proceedings of the state assembly. Pindrajora is a village under Chas block of the district.“The residents of Pindrajora and adjoining panchayats travel 25-30 km to the Chas block office for getting various administrative works done. Women, senior citizens, farmers and people from economically weaker sections find it difficult to cover such long distances,” she said.“Upgrading Pindrajora into a block will ease administrative functioning, expedite implementation of schemes and ensure direct benefits to the people,” the MLA said.
