CHENNAI: Former chief minister and DMK president M K Stalin’s son-in-law V Sabareesan has issued legal notices against two Tamil Nadu ministers, Aadhav Arjuna and CTR Nirmal Kumar seeking unconditional apology for their statements alleging that he was involved in corruption across 16 departments during the previous DMK govt. Sabareesan has sought both the state PWD and electricity minister to tender an unconditional written undertaking that they will refrain from making any similar ‘defamatory, derogatory, or malicious statements against him in the future.’With 15 days they must unconditionally retract and withdraw all the false and defamatory statements made against Sabareesan, his counsel A S Aswin Prasanna said.In the event of your failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated period, our client (Sabareesan) shall be constrained to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings against you, the notice added.The statements made by the two ministers during a press meet on June 25 was baseless, fabricated, malicious, and defamatory. Such allegations were made only because he is the son-in-law of the former chief minister with an intention to defame and bring disrepute to M K Stalin, he said. “The wide publication of your false and defamatory statements through television and social media has caused immense damage to the reputation, dignity, and social standing of our client. Our client has suffered and continues to suffer irreparable harm to his image, character, and honour due to your deliberate, reckless, and malicious conduct,” the notice said.
