Aizawl: CM Lalduhoma on Thursday released the first-ever annual report of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Mizoram for the year 2025–2026 at the CM’s conference hall in Aizawl.Speaking on the occasion, the CM expressed happiness that the ACB had brought out its first annual report. He said the report would serve as an important reminder to govt employees of the need to discharge their duties with integrity and accountability and to uphold transparency and financial propriety in public administration.He stated that corruption is a major obstacle to good governance and the overall development of the state. Combating corruption, he emphasized, is not the responsibility of a single agency alone but a collective responsibility of all citizens as well as all govt employees.The CM further said that, in view of the need for stronger measures to combat corruption, the govt has strengthened both the ACB and the Mizoram Lokayukta. He expressed hope that the officers and staff of these institutions would continue to enhance their professional capabilities.During 2025–2026, the ACB, Mizoram received 17 complaints relating to corruption. Of these, 15 were taken up for preliminary enquiry, resulting in the registration of 6 regular cases. During the same period, the ACB completed 14 preliminary enquiries (including cases carried over from previous years) and disposed of 7 regular cases.Over the 16-year period from 2010 to 2026, the ACB, Mizoram secured conviction of 112 persons in 35 corruption cases that were charge-sheeted and tried by the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.The programme was chaired by J Lalthafamkima, Director, ACB, who also delivered the welcome address. YLN Reddy, secretary, vigilance department, delivered the keynote address, while Lalbiakkila, superintendent of police, ACB, proposed the vote of thanks.
