Kanpur: The district working committee of Mission Employment decided to organise large job fairs at four locations in the city, with a target to provide jobs to around 2,000 youths.The decision was taken at a meeting held on Sunday evening, chaired by district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh. He directed that youths in the district should be provided employment opportunities that matched their qualifications, skills and trades, and that the selection process should be systematic and results-oriented.
It was decided that large-scale job fairs would be organised at ITI Pandu Nagar, DBS College, Narayana Group of Institutions, and Dayanand Girls PG College. The goal is to select 2,000 young people through these job fairs. Instructions were given to prioritise suitable vacancies and trades to increase the participation of women workers.The first proposed job fair will be held at Dayanand Girls Post Graduation Degree College, Civil Lines, on February 10. The second will be held at DBS College, Govind Nagar on February 21 while the third will be held at Narayana Group of Institute, Gangaganj, Panki, on February 28. The district magistrate instructed the deputy commissioner of industries to provide a list of 25 employers along with the number of vacancies. All companies are required to register on the Rozgar Sangam portal (rojgar sangam.mp.gov.in). To ensure a precise match between candidates’ educational qualifications and employers’ requirements, consolidated data will be prepared on a Google Sheet.It was also decided that all colleges, training and technology institutions in the district would be registered on the Employment Sangam portal. To simplify the registration process for job seekers, QR codes would be issued and widely publicised. To participate in the job fair, candidates should apply online by scanning the QR code available on the “Rozgar Sangam Portal”. The committee has also released the Q R code of Rozgar Sangam.Chief development officer Deeksha Jain, deputy commissioner industry, deputy director agriculture, district horticulture officer, district social welfare officer and other officers of relevant departments were present at the meeting.
