Belagavi: Professor KLN Murthy, professor and head of the history department at the Vijayapur Postgraduate Centre of Rani Chennamma University, was suspended from service. Based on a complaint from a research student and the report submitted by the Internal Grievance Redressal Committee, the professor was suspended under the Karnataka State Civil Service Conduct Rules after his misconduct was proven. Santosh Kamagouda, registrar of Rani Chennamma University, Belagavi, issued an order suspending Professor Murthy with immediate effect. It was stated that the suspension order was implemented as per the instructions of the vice-chancellor and is subject to the syndicate’s permission.
