Srinagar, March 25 : Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq today visited Sopore to offer condolences at the residence of veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Zaki, who passed away after a prolonged illness.
The Mirwaiz met the bereaved family members, including his sons Ashiq Hussain Zaki and Abdul Rauf Zaki, and expressed deep sorrow over the loss. He paid rich tributes to the late Ghulam Nabi Zaki, describing him as a selfless and committed political activist who remained steadfast in his association with the Kashmir cause despite facing repeated incarcerations.
Recalling his long association with Shaheed-e-Millat and later with himself, the Mirwaiz said that Zaki Sahib was known for his sincerity, dedication, and unwavering resolve, and that his contributions will be remembered with great respect.
He also expressed regret that he was not permitted to come earlier and could not participate in the last rites of a long-time associate.
The Mirwaiz prayed for the highest place in Jannat for the departed soul and for strength and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
