Pune: The Mundhwa police on Thursday detained a 17-year-old minor boy on the charge of bludgeoning a 30-year-old daily wage worker to death.The murder took place on Thursday afternoon, when victim Lokesh Tembre, who hailed from Nagpur, was drinking liquor with the minor on an open ground near BT Kawde Road in Mundhwa. The police said that the murder was the fallout of a quarrel between the duo over some petty issue.An officer from the Mundhwa police said, “Tembre and the minor knew each other. On Thursday afternoon, when they were drinking liquor on the ground, they entered into a heated argument over some issue. Tembre allegedly used some indecent words about the minor’s mother. Furious, the teen allegedly bludgeoned him to death with a large stone.”He added that the minor was detained based on a tip-off. During questioning, he admitted to have killed Tembre. The minor has been charged under section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “Our investigations are on,” said the police officer.
