Mangaluru: A 17-year-old girl studying at a private college in Belthangady was found dead in her hostel room on Thursday. According to the complaint filed by the girl’s parent, the college principal informed the family over the phone that the student had allegedly died by suicide in her hostel room. The complainant later arrived at the hostel and identified the body. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Belthangady police station under Section 194 of the BNSS. Further investigation is under way.
