Mysuru: Social welfare minister HC Mahadevappa on Sunday made a surprise inspection at Kittur Rani Channamma residential school for girls near Begur in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar district.The minister inspected the kitchen, dining hall, dormitory, and classrooms, apart from enquiring about the quality of the food served at the school by speaking to the students. The minister also interacted with students and enquired about their studies in the hostel. The minister also sipped tea prepared in the hostel while interacting with the students.As a large number of students staying in hostels are from rural areas, he also gave directions to staff to provide food cooked in hygienic conditions, besides treating the inmates of the hostel with better care. He also asked them to take care of the health of inmates, besides conducting yoga and meditation classes regularly.They must serve the food to inmates of the hostel as per the menu prepared by them. He also directed the teachers to ensure quality education to the students, besides involving the students in extracurricular activities along with academic activities. They must create a home-like, student-friendly environment and maintain cleanliness.
