Bhubaneswar: More than a year after the CBI arrested senior Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer Chintan Raghuvanshi in a bribery case here, its complainant was arrested by the directorate on Thursday.ED officials identified the accused as Ratikant Rout, a Bhubaneswar‑based stone miner with business interests in Dhenkanal district.“A money‑laundering case was registered against Rout in 2024 for illegal stone mining. He was summoned and questioned on several occasions. His properties too were raided. Based on the evidence gathered, we have now arrested him,” an ED source said.It was Rout’s complaint on May 29, 2025, that had led the CBI to lay a trap and arrest Raghuvanshi, then a deputy director of ED in Bhubaneswar, while allegedly accepting Rs 20 lakh — the first instalment of a Rs 50-lakh bribe deal.According to CBI’s FIR, Raghuvanshi had allegedly demanded Rs 2 crore initially and later agreed to settle for Rs 50 lakh to spare Rout in the money‑laundering case.
