Chennai: Traffic was disrupted on Sunday night after several milk packets tumbled onto the road following an explosion in a container lorry’s cooling unit near the Ashok Pillar metro station.At 11.30pm, as a lorry carrying milk packets was passing along the busy 100-feet road, a blast occurred in its refrigeration unit. The impact shattered side panels of the vehicle, causing packets to spill onto the roadway.A large number of packets burst open, spilling milk across the road and creating a slippery surface. Vehicles were forced to slow down, leading to traffic congestion in the area.Some passers-by helped the driver load a few packets back into the vehicle. Traffic police, who rushed to the spot, restored normal traffic movement. No injuries were reported in the incident.
