Nagpur: The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro), in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), is set to roll out a dedicated feeder bus service linking Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station with key institutions on the Hingna Road.Buses will ply from Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, with stops at GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Priyadarshini College of Engineering. The service is expected to commence operations soon. The initiative aims to strengthen last-mile connectivity for students, patients and daily commuters. Officials said students and patients had demanded the service, especially for direct access to educational and medical institutions. To facilitate this, a registration camp for Maha Card and NMC bus passes will be held at premises of colleges on April 7 and 8.Officials said the feeder bus will drop passengers inside the campuses, ensuring convenient, safe and time-efficient travel. This service is expected to encourage greater use of Metro services while reducing reliance on private vehicles and autos for short-distance commutes.“This integrated initiative is a significant step toward seamless urban mobility in Nagpur, enhancing accessibility and promoting multimodal transport,” a Maha Metro spokesperson said.
