Bengaluru: Genomics diagnostic firm, MedGenome has launched OncoTrack MRD, a blood test designed using a patient’s own tumour tissue to detect residual disease and help in earlier identification of potential cancer relapse.
According to MedGenome, OncoTrack MRD is a personalised, tumor-informed, molecular residual disease test for patients previously diagnosed with cancer.
It is tailored to each patient using their own tumor tissue and analyzes circulating tumor DNA to detect and measure residual cancer, identify potential recurrence earlier than conventional methods, and support treatment decisions, the firm added.
The test can be performed multiple times a year and enables clinicians to monitor relapse throughout the course of cancer care, as well as provides insights into residual disease and treatment response and can help identify the risk of recurrence earlier.
It is available nationwide with convenient home sample collection.
The test was launched by oncologists Dr. Niti Raizada, Dr. Vinayak Maka, and Dr. Rajeev Vijayakumar, along with Rampasad Vedam, PhD, CEO, MedGenome Labs Ltd in Bengaluru.
