The action comes a week after the corporation demolished the four-acre SBJ RMC plant on Naurangpur Road

Gurgaon: MCM on Saturday demolished six illegally operating ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants on Garhi-Basai Road, intensifying its crackdown on unauthorised commercial establishments. However, the civic body admitted there are over 30 such plants running without regulatory intervention and said that action would be taken soon.Among the units demolished were Infra Market Concrete, A2V RMC, Shri Ram RMC and Shivam Readymix. Officials said the plants had been operating without mandatory permissions and valid documents. The action comes a week after the corporation demolished the four-acre SBJ RMC plant on Naurangpur Road. The demolition drive was led by MCM district town planner (DTP) Rajendra Sharma in the presence of a duty magistrate and sub-divisional officer (SDO) Shashikant. Police personnel were deployed to ensure law and order.Despite the demolition drives, the corporation admitted it has found over 30 illegal RMC plants inside the city. The disclosure has raised questions about how well the authorities are monitoring such activities, especially since these plants need large-scale infrastructure and cannot be concealed.DTP Rajendra Sharma said, “The documents of the demolished units were examined before action was initiated, and they were found to violate the rules. No industrial or commercial activity will be allowed to function in the corporation area without the required approvals.”Sharma said the remaining illegal plants would also face action in the coming days and appealed to developers and businesses to obtain statutory permissions before commencing construction or commercial operations. While the corporation has described the demolition campaign as part of an ongoing enforcement drive, the scale of the violations has put the spotlight on regulatory oversight and whether timely action could have prevented dozens of unauthorised plants from operating in the first place.
