The action followed a review meeting at PWD Rest House chaired by CM Nayab Singh Saini

Gurgaon: MCG on Friday suspended a junior engineer and issued show-cause notices to two others after sewerage complaints marked “resolved” on the e-Samadhan portal were found to be unresolved. The action followed a review meeting at PWD Rest House chaired by CM Nayab Singh Saini. The CM’s office/grievance cell had contacted complainants and found that at least three problems persisted. MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya ordered the immediate suspension of junior engineer (JE) Amit Kumar, while show-cause notices went to Arif Khan and Tilak, JEs outsourced through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Ltd (HKRNL).Amit was suspended over Satish Kumar Midha’s complaint of sewer overflow and foul smell in New Colony, allegedly marked resolved by him. Midha said the overflow continued. The order, under Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016, called it a serious lapse and held, prima facie, gross negligence, dereliction of duty, lack of devotion to duty and disobedience of official directions.“Merely marking a complaint as ‘resolved’ on the online portal is not sufficient; it is also necessary to ensure that the problem has actually been resolved at the site,” said Dahiya.Khan’s notice relates to Shubhash Nangia’s complaint of sewer overflow in Palam Vihar, allegedly marked resolved by him, which the complainant denied. Citing a serious discrepancy between portal status and the position at the site, it gave him three days to reply and asked him to appear before the commissioner at 9am on Monday with a written reply, factual report and records.Tilak’s notice concerns a sewer overflow complaint from Basai village and adjoining areas, also marked “resolved” though the problem persisted. He has three days to explain and has been summoned for a personal hearing.
