Rajesh Kumar Pandey/TNNPrayagraj: The Allahabad High court on Friday adjourned till Aug 25 the hearing in the matter of Krishna Janmabhoomi- Shahi Idgah mosque dispute at Mathura on joint request of the parties concerned as mediation proceedings have commenced in the matter before the district court at Mathura.Justice Avnish Saxena observed, “It is jointly submitted before the bar that the mediation proceedings is continuing before the district court, Mathura as per the directions of the Supreme Court. The next date fixed by the SC for Lok Adalat is from Aug 21 to Aug 23. As such, the case is adjourned as prayed.”During the course of hearing, an application was moved by one of the plaintiffs to direct the state govt and administration to restrain any person or group from entering the suit property for the purpose of any meeting, ‘kar seva’ or to organize any function at the site which may disturb public peace. Acting on this application, the court asked the parties to file objection, if any, to the application.It is to recall that the Hindu side has filed 18 suits for possession of land after removal of structure of Shahi Idgah masjid as well as for restoration of temple and for permanent injunction. The controversy is related to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb-era Shahi Idgah mosque at Mathura, which is alleged to have been built after demolishing a temple at the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
