Varanasi: Hailing Union home minister Amit Shah’s declaration of making India ‘Maoist-free’, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav blamed Congress and other opposition parties for keeping the problem alive during their regime for political gains. Addressing the MP-UP Cooperation Convention 2026 at Hotel Ramada here on Tuesday, Yadav said that led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and on the resolve of Amit Shah, the ‘lal salaam’ (final salute) was given to to extremism. Yadav said all opposition parties, including Congress, who ruled in MP the past, allowed Maoism to flourish and now that state was Naxal-free, the state will witness development of industrial activities and expansion . He said MP is becoming a hub of new opportunities with its policy-based transparency, vast land bank available for industries, reliable power supply, strong connectivity and investor-friendly environment.
