Vadodara: The 33-year-old man who jumped off the fourth floor of Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) Hospital on Friday, seriously injuring an ambulance driver on whom he landed, died of his injuries on Saturday.Hitesh Rohit, a resident of Shastrinagar in Kishanwadi, was brought to the hospital by his wife on Friday morning after he slit his wrist with a blade at home.While being treated in the emergency department under the NCOT surgery unit, Hitesh fled to an upper floor of the building and jumped off, landing on ambulance driver Pritesh, who was standing below.Pritesh suffered severe back injuries and fractures to his vertebrae and being treated at SSG Hospital.According to family members, Hitesh had been behaving unusually for the past two days. He had told them that he did not want to return home because he could see two or three people. The family said there had been no dispute or quarrel at home before the incident.Hitesh was married and had a daughter. He was unemployed, family members said. The reasons for his repeated suicide attempts remain unclear. Raopura police are investigating the incident.
