Nelson CV arrested by the Puttur Town police from Thrissur, Kerala, who had been evading the law for years, despite 41 outstanding arrest warrants issued against him
Mangaluru: Puttur Town police have successfully arrested a 38-year-old man from Thrissur, Kerala, who had been evading the law for years, despite 41 outstanding arrest warrants issued against him.The accused, identified as Nelson CV, was wanted in connection with a 2017 armed robbery case. According to police, on Dec 22, 2017, three unidentified individuals broke into a house within the Puttur Town police station limits. The suspects allegedly threatened the occupants with a pistol and a knife, escaping with gold jewelry estimated at Rs 2.9 lakh and Rs 60,000 in cash.A case was subsequently registered at the Puttur Town police station.The accused had been absconding since Aug 27, 2021, and failed to appear before the court for trial, leading to 41 separate arrest warrants being issued against him.Following a targeted operation, a police team—comprising head constable Santhosh A, police constables Vinayak andShivaraj—traced Nelson to Miyur in the Thrissur district of Kerala. He was taken into custody on Wednesday, and has since been produced before the court.Additionally, because the accused had previously obtained conditional bail and subsequently violated the court’s orders by failing to appear, a fresh case has been registered against him at the Puttur Town police station under Section 269 of the BNS.
