Gurgaon: A 29-year-old man, wanted in several states for theft and robbery, was arrested near Sector 45 on Thursday. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge was recovered from his possession.The accused, Mujammil, a resident of Shikarpur village in Nuh district, had a Rs 20,000 reward on his head in Rajasthan for his involvement in two separate cases of ATM robberies and assault in Jhunjhunu district, an officer said.

“Further examination of his criminal record revealed he has around 10 cases registered against him across multiple states. In Haryana’s Nuh district, he faces two cases related to murder, theft and burglary. He is also wanted in one case of attempt to murder in Maharashtra and one case of theft and burglary in Telangana,” he added.During interrogation, Mujammil disclosed he is a member of a gang linked to several ATM robberies. He said he had purchased the seized pistol from a person in Nuh and was going to use it in a robbery when he was arrested.A case under the Arms Act has been registered against him.
