Nagpur: A 41-year-old man allegedly throttled his wife to death at their Zingabai Takli residence after a quarrel over dinner on Wednesday.The incident occurred after the accused, Krishnakant Yadav, returned home at 9.45pm and asked his wife Yamini to serve dinner to him and their children, a son and daughter. Yamini, who was preparing to leave for a dance practice ahead of Ganeshotsav celebrations, instead asked him to serve food for himself, leading to a bitter argument between the couple.The couple entered into an argument. Krishnakant allegedly grabbed her by the neck, punched her repeatedly and threw her on the bed. After she complained of uneasiness, Krishnakant rushed to fetch medicines. As her condition worsened, he took her to a hospital, where she was declared dead.The couple had migrated from Uttar Pradesh to Nagpur about a year ago. Krishnakant works at an insurance company in Dharampeth while Yamini was a homemaker.Mankapur police initially registered an accidental death case. The autopsy report revealed she had been strangulated. Forensic experts confirmed the cause of death. Police then registered a murder case and arrested Krishnakant.
