Gurgaon: A dispute near Ram Chowk in Udyog Vihar turned violent on Tuesday night when an MG car driver allegedly blocked a cab and struck its windows and windscreen with a rod.The incident took place around 9.30pm on Tuesday. Police said an argument broke out between the driver of an MG ZS EV and an Ertiga cab driver after the former alleged that the cab had brushed against his car while attempting to overtake it at a traffic signal. The cab driver, however, denied the allegation, claiming his vehicle had not touched the car.When the signal turned green, the MG driver allegedly overtook the cab, stopped in front of it and blocked its path. He then got out carrying a rod and confronted the cab driver.A video of the incident circulating on social media shows the MG driver striking the cab’s windows and windscreen with the rod and asking the driver to come out. He is also seen poking the driver in the chest with the rod.“The cab driver called the cab owner, who reached the spot and intervened. The matter was later taken to Udyog Vihar police station,” a police officer said. Both parties were called to the station and reached a settlement after the MG driver paid compensation for the damage caused to the cab, the officer said.In another incident in Faridabad, two men allegedly assaulted a cab driver after a minor collision in the NIT area on Monday around 6 pm.According to eyewitnesses, the cab was following a Baleno when the driver honked as traffic slowed. This was when a minor collision occurred between the vehicles. The two men in the Baleno allegedly stopped, got out and confronted the cab driver.The incident was recorded on the cab’s dashcam. The footage shows the men surrounding the driver, pulling him out of the cab and slapping him several times. The incident took place on a busy road, with passersby watching the confrontation.Police, however, said they had not received a complaint. The SHO of NIT said, “We have not received any complaint from either side. If anyone comes forward with a complaint, we will investigate the matter.”
