Madhubani: A 63-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his nephew following a land dispute at Kamalawari Goth Tola under Jainagar police station area in Madhubani on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Ramchandra Singh.According to local residents, an argument broke out between Ramchandra and his nephew, Ram Shubhat Singh (45), over a minor land dispute. The confrontation soon turned violent. Ram Shubhat allegedly went inside his house, brought out a pistol and shot his uncle.The bullet struck Ramchandra near the shoulder. He was rushed to the sub-divisional hospital in Jainagar, where he was given initial treatment before being referred to Madhubani for further medical care. He later died at a hospital in Madhubani.After receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot and launched an investigation. Raids were carried out to arrest the accused.Jainagar SHO Raman Kumar confirmed that the shooting followed a land dispute. DSP Sadanand said raids were underway to apprehend the accused and further investigation was on.
