Ludhiana: Division Number 6 police have booked a man and his aides for allegedly robbing his co-worker of cash and a mobile phone near ATI Road. An FIR has been registered against Sandeep Singh of Suraj Nagar, Shimlapuri, and two unidentified accused on the complaint of Vikas Sharma, a resident of Gobind Nagar.Sharma, who runs an agency dealing in chips and packed snack products, said that on March 14, employees Satish Kumar and Sandeep Singh had gone out in a pick-up vehicle to deliver supplies and collect payments. Around 4:30pm, Satish informed him that deliveries had been completed and payments collected. While returning, two unidentified men allegedly intercepted their pickup vehicle.According to the complaint, Sandeep Singh then joined the two men in attacking Satish Kumar. The accused allegedly assaulted him and threatened him with a sharp-edged weapon before robbing him of Rs 54,000 cash and his mobile phone.ASI Harbhajan Singh, who is investigating the case, said an FIR has been registered under Sections 309(2) and 3(5) of the BNS. He added that efforts are underway to arrest the accused, and a search has been launched to trace them.
