Noida: A 32-year-old woman died after she was allegedly pushed by her husband at a construction site in Sector 168. Police registered a case of culpable homicide and a search is on for the accused, who fled the spot.According to police, Geeta Kumari and her husband Dhena Lohra recently moved to the city to work as daily-wage labourers. They had been employed at a construction site for the past 15 days and were living in temporary accommodation on the premises.Around 8.30pm on Friday, the couple got into an argument over household expenses when Lohra asked Geeta for money to buy vegetables, but she refused. The disagreement soon escalated into a physical altercation and Lohra allegedly pushed Geeta during a scuffle, causing her to lose balance and hit her head against a wall. Lohra then fled the scene.Geeta suffered a severe head injury and collapsed. The site contractor, identified as Ameen, rushed to help and alerted the police by calling the emergency helpline. A police team reached the spot and brought Geeta to the District Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.Assistant commissioner of police Rakesh Pratap Singh said the post-mortem examination confirmed that the woman died from the head wound sustained during the scuffle. Her body was later handed over to her family.The site contractor filed a police complaint and an FIR was subsequently registered against her husband at the Expressway police station. A search is on for the accused and two police teams have been formed to trace and arrest him.
