Mumbai: The city crime branch police on Sunday arrested a fake IAS officer and recovered several fake government documents from him. Police arrested Chandramohan Singh (32) from Malad. He claimed to be an IAS officer and reportedly stayed in Mumbai posing as an officer of the ministry of home affairs. When the police stopped his vehicle in Dadar, he presented a fake identity card and claimed to be an IAS officer. His vehicle bore a ‘Govt of India’ number plate. Following a tip-off, Malad police set a trap, apprehended Singh, and registered a case on June 28. Authorities seized a counterfeit Home Ministry identity card, sixteen visiting cards, and the vehicle. The ID and cards featured the Indian Rajmudra. Police have also seized another fake ID in his name in which he posed as an officer of the ministry of defence. Police are trying to find out what his motive is.
