Patna: A man who had been missing from his home since Monday evening was found dead in a drain under construction in Raghopur village under Chini Mill out post in Bihta police station area on Tuesday morning.The deceased was identified as Krishna Mahato, a resident of Raghopur. His body was found floating in the drain being constructed by the municipal council in the village.The incident triggered anger among local residents, with family members alleging that the drain had been left open during construction work. They questioned whether adequate safety measures had been put in place around the site and demanded a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to Krishna’s death.Police reached the spot after being alerted about the body and brought the situation under control. A team examined the site and questioned local residents.According to Krishna’s family, he had been missing since Monday evening. They learnt about his death on Tuesday morning after local residents informed them that a body had been found in the drain.Bihta police station in charge Amit Kumar said a police team had reached the spot and was investigating the matter. He said arrangements were being made to send the body to a govt hospital for postmortem.Police were examining all possible angles to determine how Krishna ended up in the drain and whether his death was accidental or involved any other circumstances, the SHO said. Officials said the exact cause of death would be known only after the postmortem report comes.
