New Delhi: A 60-year-old woman died after her son allegedly threw her to the floor during a domestic fight in northeast Delhi’s New Seemapuri on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Hamidun Nisha, lived with her family in the area. The accused, Sher Ali (27), works as a tailor in Loni, Ghaziabad. Police said Ali was arguing with his wife when his mother tried to intervene. “As the quarrel escalated, Ali pushed his mother, causing her to fall and suffer a severe head injury. She collapsed at the spot,” a senior police officer said. Family members tried to help her, but she died soon after. Police were informed and a team from Seemapuri police station reached the house for an inquiry. The body was sent for postmortem. In her statement, Nisha’s daughter Sabnam alleged that Ali assaulted their mother during the dispute, leading to her death. Based on the complaint and preliminary findings, a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (murder) has been registered against Ali. Police said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between the accused and his wife. Statements of family members and other witnesses are being recorded to establish the sequence of events.
