Surat: A 27-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend following an argument after dinner in the Bhestan area on Saturday night.Police said the accused, Rakbeer Singh Tank (22), a resident of Satnam Nagar, had gone to meet the victim, Akash Patil, at his residence in Bhestan Awas. After spending some time together, the two went out to get dinner near the Bhestan overbridge.At the spot, Patil met his friends who were having dinner and decided to stay back with them. When Tank insisted that he return with him, Patil refused, leading to an argument.As Patil’s friends also got involved, tensions escalated. Police said that during the altercation, Tank allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Patil multiple times. The victim was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Dindoli police inspector R J Chudasma said the accused was arrested while attempting to flee by climbing a wall at his residence. “During the investigation, we found that the accused has two prior cases registered against him at Salabatpura and Palsana police stations,” he added.
