Jaipur: A 22-year-old man was killed after a speeding SUV hit him in Bhankrota area Monday evening. The vehicle then crashed into the stationary truck, police said.The accident occurred around 5.30pm near the Ring Road.The deceased was identified as Shifan Qureshi (22), a resident of Qureshi Colony in Chandpole.Police said Shifan was removing a truck tyre outside a puncture repair shop when the SUV allegedly lost control on the rain-slick road, hit him and then slammed into the parked truck. He was rushed to SMS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.The SUV driver sustained minor injuries and was discharged after first aid at a nearby private hospital.Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was travelling at high speed when the driver lost control because of the wet road surface.During the probe, police found the SUV had some pending traffic challans, including for previous traffic violations.Police have seized the SUV and launched an investigation.
