Rajkot: Porbandar local crime branch (LCB) on Friday detained a man for allegedly preparing and storing adulterated milk at his house in Timbinesh village under Kutiyana police station limits.Acting on a tip-off, an LCB team raided the residence of Sarman Kodiyatar, near Jay Mataji Milk Dairy and recovered around 30 litres of suspected adulterated milk, police said.The team also seized 75kg of skimmed milk powder, comprising two sealed 25-kg bags and two partially filled bags, along with 14 tins of palmolein and other materials allegedly used to prepare the adulterated milk.The LCB team informed the food safety officer, who took samples of the suspected adulterated milk for testing. The rest of the ‘milk’ was destroyed at the spot.Police said legal action had been initiated against Kodiyatar under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
